Shea & Company 2024 Summer Analyst

ELIGIBILITY: The summer analyst role is for candidates currently pursuing a college or university degree and is usually undertaken during the second or third year of study.

LOCATION: Boston

We’re looking for great junior bankers to help lead our transaction execution and marketing efforts. Shea & Company’s Summer Analysts are key members of the team who have significant external-facing responsibilities, are involved in all aspects of client management and interaction and are responsible for driving the flawless execution of the firm’s M&A and private placement transactions. We will provide live feedback and two formalized review process throughout the 10 week internship.

Responsibilities
  • Executing live transactions
  • Generating marketing and pitch materials
  • Financial analysis
  • Creating industry thought pieces and software market maps within specific verticals

Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate is a rising college junior with an excellent academic track record at a leading undergraduate program college or university. Highly qualified rising sophomores may also be considered. A strong intellect, ability to work in a team environment, demonstrated analytical and communication skills, willingness to take initiative, and excellent attention to detail are required. Experience in software or knowledge of the industry would is valued, as well. See below for a list of all qualifications:
  • Rising college junior with strong quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Successful completion of coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields
  • Self-starter with a high level of maturity and ability to multi-task
  • Superior written and oral communication ability
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interest in technology market trends
  • Prior internship experiences in investment banking, consulting, venture capital or private equity are a plus, but not required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
