WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, provide mental health services to students, including the coordination of crisis intervention services, mental health therapy, and case management; provide clinical supervision for mental health trainees.

There are two immediate 12 month, 100% vacancies located at Oxnard and Ventura College. There is one immediate 12 month, 70% (28 hours/week) vacancy located at Moorpark College.

Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. It serves approximately 15,000 students, and with a "students first" philosophy, empowers its diverse community of learners to complete their goals for academic transfer, basic skills, and career education. Oxnard College was founded in 1975 and is the newest of the three community colleges in the county. This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year.

Representative Duties

Coordinate the provision and delivery of mental health services, including serving as the college's primary resource on mental health concerns and strategies. E

Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions, as well as group sessions, per scope of practice; develop treatment plans as appropriate. E

Serve as a resource and liaison for the college on issues of mental health promotion, including resource material development, committee membership, and presentations for the general campus community. E

Provide crisis intervention, evaluation, and referral to community services; collaborate with community psychological evaluation teams and mental health providers as needed. E

Assist the Student Health Center Coordinator with the research of current health trends and practices, as well as the development and maintenance of clinical protocols in accordance with current standards of care. E

Gather data to determine campus trends and needs; recommend program modifications in response to identified needs; maintain records of activities and services provided. E

Establish relationships with community health providers for the purpose of serving as referral agencies. E

Evaluate, maintain, and update a variety of mental health-related records and files; compile information and health statistics data for reports. E

Provide health related information to health care and social service providers as requested. E

Provide clinical supervision to mental health trainees as outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. E

Perform related duties as assigned.

E = Essential Duties

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree from a recognized college or university in social work, clinical psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related field AND three years of experience providing mental health services in a mental health care setting or private practice AND eligible to provide clinical supervision per the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Possession of valid California licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).

EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (T&E) EVALUATION
A T&E is an assessment of training and experience, beyond the minimum requirements, that has prepared the candidate for the position as evidenced in the application materials. Please be sure to answer every component of each supplemental question as your responses will be scored and serve as your score on the training and experience (T&E) evaluation.

The candidates with the highest passing scores on the T&E will be invited to the technical interview.

ELIGIBILITY LIST
Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical interview.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD
All appointments made from eligibility lists for initial appointment or for promotion, with certain exceptions, shall be probationary for a period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) days of paid service, whichever is longer. Classified management, police, and designated executive classifications shall be probationary for a period of one (1) year of paid service from initial appointment or promotion.
