Business Analyst - Associate Level

Job Summary: Lafayette Group is seeking a qualified and highly-motivated individual to work on complex projects/initiatives in support of Federal clients to analyze the voice of the customer/stakeholder and develop business solutions aligned with the strategic business objectives of the organization. This position will involve the development of business cases and internal and external communications materials that require the ability to translate highly technical content for a non-technical, executive audience. 

Required Qualifications:
  • 2-7 years of experience in consulting and business analysis developing well-organized and insightful presentations, reports, business cases, and other forms of written or visual communications in support of strategic, tactical, and operational business decisions

  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing the voice of the customer, understanding business needs, drawing conclusions from quantitative and qualitative analyses to develop business solutions, and effectively communicating to various audiences

  • Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills – ability to tell a complex story effectively to various audiences

  • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically and learn quickly

  • Ability to meet deadlines, adhere to project plans, ensure any conflicts are brought to the attention of the management team, and multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously

  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable

  • Ability to interact and network effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, both internal and on the client site

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

  • BA or BS degree required

  • Ability to secure a Public Trust, which requires clean criminal record, clean driving record, and good credit history

  • Desired Qualifications:Experience with consulting in a professional environment
  • Experience in public safety operations or telecommunication industry
  • Candidate local to the DC Metro area (Washington DC/Maryland/VA)

  • Clearance: Ability to obtain a public trust
  • Existing TS or Secret clearance or Department of Commerce public trust desired

This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
