Job Purpose
The Director of Professional and Transfer Programs in the School of Business reports to an collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Professional Studies and Continuing Education to provide leadership for and to oversee the operations of the Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) and transfer programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in higher education administration, business administration, student development or related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. 3-5 years’ experience in an academic support role with a college or university. Experience in program administration, curriculum development, academic advising, student support and student recruitment practices with focus on transfer students and adult learners. Advanced knowledge of FERPA regulations. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated commitment to the distinct qualities of transfer and adult non-traditional undergraduate students and online learners. Ability to work collaboratively and cross-train across all aspects of a program. Knowledge of Banner, Degree Works, COGNOS, LMS systems, Salesforce, student support CRMs and Microsoft TEAMS preferred.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Will need to be available to work some evenings and weekends to represent the Bachelor of Professional Studies and the School of Business technical college transfer program at events in various locations, as needed. Some in-state travel will be required.

1. Serves as primary point of contact and counsel for prospective students and current students enrolled in Professional Studies major, minors and certificate programs as well as students pursuing degree completion through School of Business transfer programs. Creates, manages and participates in new student orientation. Provides direct support related to academic performance, ongoing program progression and completion of assurance management. Ensures high level of student services and advising for prospective and matriculated students. Provides quality, accurate academic advising reflecting NACADA and CAS standards. Instructs students through individual, small group and workshop settings on academic planning tools, degree requirements, institutional policies and procedures, opportunities for co-curricular activities and resource utilization. Documents advising sessions and maintains academic records in compliance with College of Charleston policies and procedures and FERPA regulations.

2. Assists the Assistant Dean on B.P.S. admissions and enrollment management activities, including student recruitment, pre-matriculation advising, B.P.S. admissions (in collaboration with the Office of Admissions), and retention. Works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean for Professional Studies and Continuing Education, the University Registrar, and the Associate Provost for Academic and International Programs to ensure that the School of Business offers programs that align with College of Charleston Articulation Agreements and Pathways with the SC Technical College System and other technical colleges. Manages the School of Business process and the strategic level relationship with the transfer credit evaluation coordinator and the Registrar’s Office. Serves as liaison to transfer program partners at SC Technical College System Institutions. Serves as liaison to School of Business department chairs regarding 2 + 2 student matriculation, enrollment/seat management and course forecasting. Designs and implements strategies to identify students who left the College of Charleston before graduating and could be a candidate for the Bachelor of Professional Studies program. Actively recruit those students and create a path to degree completion.

Collaborates with School of Business and central marketing teams to schedule marketing activities, such as the web site content review, revision and addition process; oversees email campaigns, advertising, marketing events; participates in inquiry management. Participates in recruiting events including information sessions, campus visits and other regional transfer events.

4. Collaborates with the Assistant Dean in reviewing, revising and adding to the BPS program policies, standards and practices for program/course design, delivery and management. Assists with departmental strategic planning and implementation of strategic plan initiatives. Assists with departmental assessment planning and data collection. Manages various databases and reporting features focused on student success and retention. Assists with required reporting associated with AACSB accreditation.
