Special Education Teacher

Description:
Plans, implements and assesses student learning experiences. Helps foster a love of learning for students and appropriately guides the learner to lead their learning. Facilitates parental involvement. Builds positive relationships with students and is able to deescalate and manage student behavior. Collaborates with classroom teacher in order to modify work as needed for students. This position is located at Meadowbrook Elementary. Start date is as soon as possible.  

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Licensure and certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in Special Education, Cross-categorical or Cognitive/Intellectual Disabilities (1801 or 1810). Successful completion of student teaching experience. Knowledge of current educational methodology and practices.

Experience in or knowledge of:
Viable candidates will be an active member of the school community, be able to create a positive and supportive classroom community, be organized and efficient, and to facilitate the district and school's mission to develop 21st Century Learners. Desired experience with working with students with more significant needs.
