Knowledge Management Intern

MSH is a nonprofit international health organization with nearly 2,500 people from over 74 nationalities working in over 40 countries. Our mission: Saving lives and improving the health of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people by closing the gap between knowledge and action in public health. Together with our partners, we are helping managers and leaders in developing countries to create stronger management systems that improve health services for the greatest health impact.

The Knowledge Management (KM) Intern is a member of the KM Support Team within the Program Delivery Group (PDG) department. They support the KM lead in integrating KM across projects at MSH and support strategic initiatives to improve learning and impact by providing direct technical support to MSH programs and projects. This may include contributing to technical documentation and knowledge exchanges, conducting literature reviews, and research activities as tasked.

Hours: 20-40 hours/week
Period of Performance: April 2023 - Sept 2023 (Dates Flexible)

Responsibilities:
- Support KM lead and team in implementation of Strategy to drive KM integration within projects to further learning at MSH through use of evidence.
- Support management of knowledge management platforms to make technical resources available and accessible to the appropriate audiences
LeaderNet (external e-learning platform)
  • Support data analysis and reporting for LeaderNet quarterly reports. This includes mailchimp, website, social media, and membership analytics.
  • Support development and management of the monthly LeaderNet Newsletters. The intern will liaise with LeaderNet partner organizations and internal MSH staff to gather new content.
Journals and databases
  • Track the publications released by MSH staff and disseminate publications through internal channels
  • Institutional Memory and USAID DEC
  • Maintain databases by uploading project documents to make them available internally and to the audience of one of our funders
  • Disseminating new uploads to institutional memory through internal channels
  • Other platform maintenance as needed
Technical documentation/writing
  • Contribute to the production and dissemination of evidence-based deliverables to support projects and accelerate the transfer of best practices.
  • Contribute to literature reviews, case studies, and review internal institutional knowledge.
  • Assist in synthesizing data and literature, as well as relevant program results. Capture key findings in reports or summaries.

This position can be hybrid and/or remote.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Public Health or related Degree Programs
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft applications to include: Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and teambuilding skills.
  • Experience in research, data analysis and data visualization
