Internship Description:
 
Under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Finance in the Disaster Recovery, the Student Assistant will assist the Public Assistance Finance team with various activities including creating reports, process documentation activities, and administrative tasks.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Assist with processing of Hazard Mitigation payments to applicants.
* Produce expenditure reports for reconciliation purposes, as well as various other reports as needed.
* Review of various invoices for eligibility and appropriateness.
* Assist with program documentation including organize, write, edit, and maintain documentation using appropriate software including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel).
* Assist in locating and gathering various data from the NY Recovers system as needed.
* Create process documents as needed.
* Assist with special or ad hoc assignments as needed.

 
Minimum Qualifications:
* MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
 
Skills:
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail
Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint
Strong research and analytical skills
Excellent verbal/written communication
 
Internship Areas: Financial Administration, Homeland Security

This internship will be a combination in-person and virtual, Monday through Friday, anytime from 8am - 5pm.
