Analyst – Regulatory Relations

Business Overview:
Supervisory Relations is one of three connected teams within the Regulatory Strategy & Policy function for BNPP’s Intermediate Holding Company (“IHC”) and Wholesale operations in the U.S.* Supervisory Relations acts as a liaison with the bank’s U.S. regulators to promote effective relationships and to ensure a considered and consistent approach to regulatory interactions. Supervisory Relations coordinates regulatory engagements, oversees regulatory exams and reviews, and supports management in identifying and responding to key themes in supervisory activities. The Supervisory Relations team works closely with other teams within Regulatory Strategy & Policy, and with executive management, business lines, and control functions (including Compliance, Finance, Risk and Legal).

Responsibilities:
BNPP seeks an Analyst level individual to join the Supervisory Relations team in supporting and managing regulatory interactions with BNPP’s U.S. prudential and capital markets regulators. Key responsibilities of the Regulatory Relations role include:
  • Support Supervisory Relations team members who are coordinating interactions with BNPP’s U.S. prudential and capital market regulators.
  • Assist with the coordination of regulatory examinations and inquiries, which includes tracking deliverables, identifying action items, and making submissions on time.
  • Organize meetings between BNPP subject matter experts and regulators, record key issues and outcomes, and track that regulatory expectations are addressed promptly.
  • Help to synthesize regulatory feedback and provide ongoing analysis to management of supervisory issues related to coverage areas. 
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations and Committee materials.
  • Work closely with relevant parties within the firm regarding regulatory findings/close-out letters.
  • Partner with key stakeholders with a view to improving future engagements.
 
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with financial markets.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with members of the management team and other colleagues across the bank.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with regulators or regulatory requirements, preferably in a bank or financial services setting.

The expected starting salary range for this position in New York is between $70,000 to $95,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
