Investment Research Internship - Summer 2024

About the Research Intern Role:
Sands Capital is seeking motivated Research Interns to support our Investment Team, working across our sector teams (Consumer, Financials, Industrials, Life Sciences, and Technology). As a Research Intern, you will help conduct investment research on new and existing investment opportunities across a global landscape. The internship will be a rotational program, providing exposure to various sectors and geographies.
 
This role is expected to work from our Arlington, VA office on a hybrid schedule at a minimum of two days per week in office or as directed, depending on team needs. Please know that the hybrid schedule is subject to change, as directed by our Executive Management Team, at any time.
 
Position Responsibilities:
Coordinate research activities with your managing analyst, including but not limited to:
  • Building company-focused financial models and projections;
  • Conducting discrete research projects to analyze company or market fundamentals (i.e., business models, growth drivers, market size, competitive advantage, industry trends, key competitors/risks, financial strength, and fit with Sands Capital’s six investment criteria);
  • Completing research on current holdings (i.e., earnings notes, model updates, expert calls, company meetings, Analyst meetings, news updates, etc.);
  • Participating in weekly Investment and Sector Team meetings;
  • Performing other administrative or professional responsibilities, as needed; and
  • Exhibiting behaviors consistent with Sands Capital’s Mission, Values, and culture.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate students interested in exploring a career in investment management;
  • A genuine and demonstrable interest in business analysis and investment research;
  • Strong familiarity with basic and intermediate accounting, as well as financial modeling;
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; and
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to complete assignments on time with limited supervision.
