Duties
The appointee will work on the development of functional additives / polymers by organic synthesis/ polymer synthesis for the development of plastic recycling / polymer processing technology.
- Additive and polymer design / synthesis / purification / modification for target application;
- Characterization of materials properties, such as NMR, FI-IR, DSC, TGA, GPC, etc.;
- Application of the developed additives and polymers in formulation of recycled plastics to achieve desired functions and product performance;
- Preparation of project progress reports, meeting slides, SOPs, IP documents, literature review, and other related documents; and
- Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Master or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science / Engineering, Material Science/Engineering or related disciplines;
- Knowhow or experience in the below areas will be an advantage:
- Experience in organic synthesis and characterization;
- Experience in polymerization and polymer characterization; and
- Experience in radical polymerization/ copolymerization.
- Strong quantitative analytical skills with attention to detail, good at record keeping and documentation;
- Able to work independently and collaborate with the team;
- Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill;
- Have a sense of ownership for his/her work, good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese, articulate report writing and presentation skills, as well as abilities in literature/patent search; and
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineers.
