Quantitative Analyst

ARCOM Capital is a Connecticut-based commodity investment fund that specializes in natural gas futures. Investments require sound analysis of natural gas supply and demand fundamentals within the framework of the total energy complex. The firm seeks to add a quantitative analyst who will engage in dissecting vast sets of energy market and financial data. The analyst should be exceptionally skilled in extracting, scrubbing, and synthesizing large and often noisy data sets. Furthermore, the candidate must be able to build predictive models from their analysis and deliver output in a transparent and conclusive manner. The ability to eventually automate the final product is a significant plus. The individual will work with a small, focused team that covers the rapidly evolving trade of natural gas, power, and LNG as the global economy transitions toward a less carbon intensive future. The position could be full time or an internship depending on suitability of applicant.
No prerequisite energy knowledge is necessary – a strong desire to learn and master new concepts through data exploration is essential.
Please ensure resume lists GPA, relevant course work (with respective grades), SAT/ACT scores, and any relevant extracurricular activities.
In your cover letter, please explain why you’d like to pursue this position and why you’re the best fit for the position.
