Summer Intern - Investment Banking

Job Description: 2023 Investment Banking Summer Analyst Intern
Westbury is seeking an analyst intern for full-time summer position in its Connecticut office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Analyst will work on Transaction Support, Client Prospecting, and Marketing Systems.


1.    Transaction Support

The Intern will assist Westbury project teams on client investment banking engagements.


Financial Analysis

·       Value companies, using discounted cash flow, publicly traded comparable companies, and comparable transactions methodologies
·       Build detailed financial models to evaluate client performance under various operating scenarios and different capital structures


Industry Research

·       Conduct fundamental industry research
·       Analyze industry growth and trends,
·       Analyze industry competitors


Client Engagement Support

·       Develop targets lists of buyers, investors, and target companies for acquisition.
·       Attend client presentations as required
·       Track engagement activity
·       Set up and maintain virtual data rooms


2.    Client Prospecting

·       Research target industries
·       Identify prospective client companies and executives
·       Generate ideas and analytical materials in support of prospect meetings
·       Prepare presentation materials for use in prospect meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, capital markets activity and general corporate finance
·       Attend client presentations as required


3.    Firm Marketing

Westbury marketing has four closely linked components:, an email marketing system, its website (which the firm is currently updating) with an associated SEO and SEM effort, a PR effort, and a customer relationship management system (CRM). The Analyst will assist Westbury in configuring, managing and integrating these systems.


SKILLS

·       Quantitatively and financially-oriented, possessing the ability to succinctly express ideas
·       Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving ability
·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·       Strong quantitative skills, including financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis
·       Excellent organization, communication and research skills
·       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
·       Facility with configuring and using Web-based software
·       Working knowledge of Capital IQ would be helpful, but not required.

Graduation Date: Graduating December 2023 - June 2025
School Years: Sophomore, Junior
GPA: 3.5 or better
Work Authorization: US work authorization is required, but the employer is accepting CPT candidates.
