About the Position:
The Event Planning Intern position is a unique internship opportunity to get involved in the startup ecosystem and interact with some of the most active investors, entrepreneurs, accelerators, and community organizations in Boston and beyond. You will be supporting the Program Director and Fellowship Associate in planning, managing, and hosting virtual and in person events.

This is a part-time position with a time-commitment of ~15-20 hours/week for at least 4 months (6 months is strongly preferred), starting as soon as you can. Please note that this is an unpaid position, and we’re happy to work with your university to help you get academic credit for the work you do with us. Many universities have stipend/payment programs for students with unpaid internships at non-profits – make sure to check with your university to see if this is an option for you!

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the creation, conception, and execution of various virtual and in person events to support The Capital Network in its mission, operations, & various partnerships.
  • Attending all or almost all in person and virtual events to assist The Capital Network team in managing and hosting them.
  • Fostering relationships with community partners, including investment groups, co-working spaces, other educational organizations, and other members of the startup ecosystem.
  • Collecting and managing feedback from our community and stakeholders to continuously improve and uncover new opportunities.
  • As time allows, special research or other projects to support The Capital Network & various partnerships (topics could include organizational strategy, industry best practices, DEI work, or others dependent on intern interests).

Qualifications:
  • Willingness and ability to attend up to 20 in person and/or virtual events during the internship. In person events will be in the Greater Boston area.
  • Relevant experience conducting and completing independent research and/or projects in a timely manner.
  • Some experience planning events and/or building communities is a plus but not required.
