Tessitura Manager (Regular Full-Time)
The Tessitura Manager provides general oversight for Tessitura, the museum’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database. The Tessitura Manager ensures that the system effectively scales and supports day to day work across business functions, leads system upgrades, and project manages and provides support and direction on platforms that integrate or share data with Tessitura, including WordFly, DonorSearch, and lacma.org. The Tessitura Manager proficiently understands these applications, their strengths and weaknesses, how they impact and interact with each other, and how they may be leveraged to best support the growth of audience, fundraising and membership through positive cooperation with key museum stakeholders. 
Responsibilities
  • Partners with the Assistant Vice President, Strategic Development Services to establish and evolve the long-term roadmap for Tessitura at LACMA. 
  • Helps determine what can be done in-house vs. with consultants, and implements system improvements. Manages select contracts and vendor relationships.
  • Creates a systems environment that supports the work of all user teams by combining expertise in Tessitura with advisory-level subject matter knowledge in business functions that use the platform. 
  • Onboards new Tessitura users and user groups, and consults with Strategic Services colleagues on advanced user training. Helps maintain documentation libraries and a user website.
  • Manages system upgrades, patches, and third-party platform integrations.
  • Proactively investigates new system capabilities and partners with user teams on designing and implementing enhancements.
  • Ensures that Tessitura supports the needs of the Finance and Accounting team, including seamless flow and accessibility of accurate and timely information. Maintains working knowledge of gift entry.
  • Works closely with the Web & Digital team to ensure that all technical policies and procedures within Tessitura related to web ticketing are upheld with a high degree of attention to detail; works with web vendors as needed to ensure flow of information between systems.
  • Participates in alignment and planning meetings with Tessitura stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and to ensure system decisions effectively support all user teams. 
  • Exemplifies essential LACMA and department values by ensuring a professional atmosphere intent on achieving the highest standards of visitor and member service possible.
  • Manage users, user groups, and security. Assigns permissions to ensure confidentiality and system integrity.
  • Supervises and carries out quality control and data clean-up inTessitura.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance. 
  • Manages the Tessitura Specialist (or equivalent position) as their direct supervisor.
Benefits
  • The expected salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $80,000 - $82,000, subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least four years of database experience, preferably including managerial, back-end, and security duties; 
  • Generalist and administrative expertise in donor database / CRM and/or ticketing software, specifically Tessitura;
  • Solid understanding of database fundamentals, including architecture, extractions and reporting.
  • Intermediate SQL experience preferred.
