U.S Bank First Line Risk Associate

(“MSBNA”) provide cash management and lending products and services to serve the needs of WM & ISG clients.
 
This role is an Associate position is within the US Banks First Line Operational Risk team. This team is one of the teams that comprise the Business Risk Management organization. The Associate will also work closely with Operational Risk Managers in executing the risk and control functions for the First Line of Defense for the U.S. Banks.

Key Responsibilities:
•   Perform and assist in executing core Operational Risk framework responsibilities and supporting coverage across Business Units and Information Technology
•   Primary responsibility would be to execute the Issues and Action Plan (I&A) management framework for the US Banks supporting the US Banks First Line Operational Risk team including,
•   Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting to various stakeholders requiring excellent proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with big data and analytics
•   Creation and maintenance of all First Line policies and procedures related to the Banks operational risk activities including drafting, reviewing, and updating them as necessary.
•   Support and management of I&A framework sustainability 
•   Develop knowledge of the US Banks Banking and Lending products and forge deep relationships with Business Unit partners, the Second Line of Defense Operational Risk Department, and provide support of Operational Risk Projects
•   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science or other related field
•   3+ years of relevant experience in operational risk management, data analytics, compliance, audit, or business and management consulting.
•   Experience in risk analysis within the financial services industry, and understanding of banking regulatory requirements, is a plus.
•   Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis using Excel and other software tools like Tableau and PowerBI
•   Highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines, both independent and as part of a team.
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including PowerPoint/presentation skills and the ability to influence and interact with senior members of the Bank.
•   Ability to analyze a function, process, or transaction, and identify the key risks and controls within it.
•   Strong interpersonal skills – Ability to freely develop networks, build consensus, prioritize effectively, and develop alliances across organizations.
•   Strong sense of ownership and accountability; is willing to be fungible and has an entrepreneurial spirit

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and 95,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
