Civil Engineer I - Rotation Program

Would you like to participate in an exciting opportunity to learn various aspects of transportation engineering through on-the-job training? The VTrans Engineer Rotation Program is a 3-year structured professional development program for entry-level engineers that will provide a strong knowledge base of the Agency. The flexibility of the Rotation Program allows the employee to tailor their work experience with those topics that most interest them. At the end of the 3-year program, the chosen candidate will work with the management team to choose the section of the Agency that they would like to work for in a full-time role.  
 
Potential rotation assignments can be chosen from various aspects of VTrans, including but not limited to, structural design, geometric design, traffic design, traffic operations, safety analysis, construction, maintenance, environmental permitting, geotechnical analysis, material testing, research, hydraulic design, contract administration and rail design.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field.
OR
Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND two (2) years of experience in engineering OR licensure as an Engineer Intern.
OR
College senior in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field.
