Research Technician I
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maxfield Lab at Weill Cornell is in search of a research technician, who will assist scientists in the performance of laboratory and investigative procedures.

POSITION ACTIVITIES:
- Participates in planning and performing experiments; assists in preparing research protocols.
- Performs fluorescence microscopy experiments; collects data using various microscopes.
- Performs some surgical experiments on mice for obtaining images.
- Collection, verification, recording and compilation of data; analysis of data using computer software and reports results to Principal Investigator.
- Maintains records of laboratory procedures and results.
- Conducts library research and literature searches using various computer systems; assists in editing scientific publications, abstracts and posters.
- Orders lab supplies as necessary. Maintain records and carries out procedures compliance with safety regulation of the medical college.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's degree with emphasis in chemistry, biology, physics or mathematics.
Highly Desired Requirements
· Some related experience in lab work.
· Experience working with vertebrate animals (mice)
· Knowledge of Word processing, and Excel spreadsheets.
Skill and Abilities
· Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
· Ability to pay close attention to detail.
· Excellent organizational skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
