Find your future with us. Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer in the Oklahoma City, OK in support of the Saudi AWACS program.
This position within the Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) organization will implement and use Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodology and system modeling tools to perform design, manage the System Architecture Models, Business process models including interfaces, key performance parameters, and operational concepts for the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) platform. The candidate will be a member of a dynamic and diverse Systems Engineering team in Oklahoma City. This Level 3 position is located in Oklahoma City.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties will include but not limited to:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes. Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification
- 3+ years experience with Systems Engineering principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Great communications and writing skills (Critical thinking skills; ability to work in agile, flexible team environment)
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams at multiple organizational levels in dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active U.S. DoD Secret Clearance
- Experience and knowledge working within the Systems Engineering “V’ Model
- System Engineering requirements and verifications experience
- Able to lead by influence outside formal reporting relationships
- Experience with managing the technical aspects of suppliers’ work
- Experience with implementation and maintenance of systems engineering tools, schedules and metrics (i.e. Earned value management, DOORs, CAMEO)
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience with Earned Value Management
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
