This is an essential channel for MassMutual to be able to help all Americans secure their future and protect the ones they love.
The Role:
As a Data Insights Intern, you will be a part of a company that fosters an inclusive and dynamic environment where our employees are valued for who they are and can build successful careers. You have an opportunity to work on average 2 days a week out of the Springfield, MA office. There can be opportunity and required training event(s) to work/travel to the Boston office at 10 Fan Pier Blvd, Boston, MA 02210. Initial training can be expected to happen at the Springfield office to start.
Meaningful Projects: Apply your knowledge and skills by participating in high profile projects in a respected and highly rated company.
- Analyze data sets to understand trends and make recommendations on how to better utilize data in decision making. Customize comparative analytics to identify unique opportunities for planning and improvement
- Lead Problem Solving initiatives to identify mitigations to operational roadblocks and concerns. Develop standards and procedures to automate where appropriate.
- Partner with Business Intelligence analysts to develop detailed Salesforce reports and dashboards that drive distribution imperatives.
Mentors: Be paired with professionals at MassMutual to learn about the business throughout several departments while utilizing your mentors as a sounding board to share and shape your ideas.
- Expect to build strong relationships with Sales Distribution, Business Intelligence, Project Management and Operations as you help identify and solve business problems.
Networking Opportunities: Engage with the greater MassMutual community by being involved in networking activities and opportunities to interact with interns from other MassMutual divisions.

Minimum Qualifications
- At least a rising junior or rising senior enrolled in a four year Bachelor degree program or a Graduate student with an anticipated grad date of May 2024
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel Skills (i.e. pivot tables, V look-ups, etc…)
- An interest and passion for leveraging data to inform decision making
- Demonstrated leadership skills gained from student clubs, community involvement or work experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication
- Must be currently authorized to work in the US, without requiring any future sponsorship

- Works autonomously, self-starter
- Intellectually curious and agile learner
- Able to demonstrate strong business acumen
- Military experience a plus
