POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Intern will work with the production creative, stage management and technical teams to plan, schedule, rehearse and perform two shows. The Production Intern will assist the Production Manager in completing a variety of show-related responsibilities, in three primary categories: handling the many administrative duties related to a production including updating schedules, calling cast with changes, updating tracks; assisting as assigned during rehearsals, which may include set up and break down of rehearsal needs, taping the stage, creating signage, taking show notes; and being responsible for a backstage show track during performance.
Additionally, the Production Intern will have the opportunity to meet and shadow related departments at Dr Phillips Center to learn and experience how these contribute to the operation of the show and venue.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a related field (i.e., theatre, production, etc.)

  • Backstage or show running experience.

  • Self-motivated to drive the learning process and takes initiative to assist wherever needed

  • Follows instructions well, seeking clarification when needed

  • Must have excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and business etiquette coupled with the ability to handle challenges or difficult situations with grace, diplomacy and tact.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel). Familiarity with both Windows and MAC operating systems

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • This position requires the ability to work a variable schedule (evenings and weekends) to meet operational needs.

  • Valid Florida Driver's license preferred.
