Research Assistant - Psychology

The Research Assistant (RA) will coordinate and work on multiple studies focused on cognition, personality, and health in adult development and aging.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinates data collection and analysis for research projects on cognition, personality, physical activity, and aging under the direction of the principal investigator- 20% time
  • Responsible for multiple tasks associated with data processing, cognitive test scoring, and preparing data files for public dissemination- 15% of time
  • Organize and manage the solicitation and review process for pilot study proposals, coordination of meetings with advisory committees and writing of annual reports- 20% of time
  • Implements multiple tasks associated with literature search and management of references and updating website-10% of time
  • Performs preparation of test materials and research protocols and assists with preparation of human subjects protocols- 10% of time
  • Supervises and trains student RA's and sets work schedule of other lab members- 15% of time
  • Performs the ordering of lab supplies and tracking lab needs, organizing lab meetings, and payment of student RA's - 10% of timeĀ 

Qualifications include:
  • B.A. or a M.A. degree, preferably in Psychology, Public Health, or a related field with excellent communication and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Experience in a behavioral science lab environment and knowledge of research methods and statistics are required.

  • The job responsibilities require knowledge of PC and Mac computers, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, familiarity with statistical software packages.
  • such as SPSS, Stata, or SAS, and website software.
  • Access to a car is desirable for data collection and travel to meetings with collaborators.

The position is for two years with the possibility of an extension.
