Student Account Services Representative

Responsible for a variety of general accounting functions and researching student accounts for refund issuance, appeals, and financial aid payment. Maintains and coordinates the payment of tuition and corresponding records. Handles disbursement of student funds and records monetary transactions. Responsible for reconciliation of daily work and deposit of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives funds from students, employees, and customers, to include checks, cash and credit card transactions. 
  • Compares totals for cash management system reconciliation and verification. Reconciles balance sheet accounts, including all adjusting work, matching and reconciling source documents. Checks available budget balances, requests transfer if needed.
  • Researches student accounts to include refund issuance, refund appeals, and financial aid payments. Disburses student funds and records monetary transactions.
  • Designs routine spreadsheets, sets up routine formulas and functions with some links.
  • Prepares vouchers for incoming invoices and submits to accounts payable for processing.
  • Reviews and processes tuition waiver requests.
  • Responds to inquiries from students, employees, and other college regarding a variety of questions, including clarification of College or campus policy and procedures.
  • Processes stop payments and reissues checks to students
  • Reviews revenue generating contracts for complete payment of amounts received.
  • Processes and sends invoices to third party payers. Follows up on unpaid accounts.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of related experience
