Director of Residence Life and Student Union
Dakota State University is seeking applications for a Director of Residence Life and Student Union. This is a full-time position with primary responsibility for administrative oversight of Residence Life and the Student Union.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning and execution of major housing functions: room assignments, move-in weekend, summer housing, etc.
- Provide support and direction to a team of employees within Residence Life.
- Develop, implement, and review policies and procures related to residence life and the student union.
- Review and update the student handbook on an annual basis.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Student Union.
- Hire, train, and supervise student Trojan Center Attendants.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Residence Life to determine staffing needs, training, and assessment of all Residence Life staff.
- Set occupancy goals and implement plans to reach those goals.
- Oversee the development of residential education and programming.
- Manage and assume fiscal responsibility for multiple budgets within Student Affairs.
- Assess and implement solutions to difficult housing scenarios or conflicts with the residence halls.
- Be available as the back-up on-call administrator.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Student Development, Student Affairs, Counseling, Educational Administration, or related field is required.
- A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of related experience in residence life and housing.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
