The Job
This position requires a creatively nimble, resourceful, energetic designer who is detail oriented, supremely organized, and motivated, with demonstrated project management skills. Our work is contemporary with a solid foundation in art and design history. We are a small team that works collaboratively on high end residential projects in a fast-paced environment. We require a spirited individual who can communicate effectively with colleagues and high achieving clients. We have challenging and diverse projects in far flung locations from New England to the Rockies and Caribbean. Our New Designer
You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to every facet of our diverse project set. You will be responsible for creating design solutions and will participate in frequent team design meetings where ideas and solutions evolve in a collaborative process. Our organization is loosely hierarchical and we foster an open atmosphere where ideas and good work are recognized and implemented, regardless of the source.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the principal and senior designers with project design assignments
  • Contribute to all project phases: strategy, schematic plans, refining solutions for design
  • development, and installation
  • Facilitate team communications, developing and maintaining strong internal and external
  • relationships, and construction documentation.
  • Participate in regular video meetings with ABD team as required
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, fabricators and vendors to achieve project objectives
  • Design and draft furnishing plans
  • Create and maintain schedules for lighting, plumbing, tile, furnishings, etc.
  • Prepare and present graphic presentations
  • Produce construction documents in ABD formats, including plans, elevations, details, and
  • specifications
  • Source, specify and order furniture and materials
  • Track orders & stay on top of deadlines.
  • Prepare and document proposals and purchasing documents
  • Assist senior staff with contractor supervision and administration as required
  • Client interaction as required
  • Travel to project sites as required
Skills
  • Demonstrate direct and clear communication skills

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines while

  • Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign and MS suite to generate presentations
  • for submittals
  • Knowledge of Design Manager, Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop would be a bonus
  • Understand millwork design and construction, especially bathroom and kitchen
Requirements
  • 3-5 years’ experience in residential design with a proven record of increasing responsibility
  • Regular office time required (2-3 days a week)- hours and location are flexible to hybrid
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation package is very competitive, with open, attractive working conditions and good benefits. Salary range is $60-$75,000 to start. Significant bonuses have been standard, based on company profitability. Signing bonus is available for the right designer! We want our employees to feel valued and supported.
