Data Analytics Intern

Position:                     Data Analytics Intern
Location:           Nationwide/Remote
FLSA Status:         Non-exempt
Salary:             $15/Hourly
Hours per week:     20 to 30 hours
Time Frame:        May 30th - August 18th, 2023
 
Position Description:
UNICEF USA seeks a Data Analytics intern for the U.S. Programs team . The intern work in collaboration with UNICEF USA Sr. Director, Research, Evaluations, and Research Partnerships to explore and support program progress and effectiveness . We are currently seeking paid interns for our cohort that will commence in May.   
 
This internship would provide an opportunity to learn about:  
  • UNICEF USA domestic agenda and work raising awareness of UUSA priorities    
  • Child Rights and how UUSA advances this priority through municipal partnerships  
  • Data analysis and UUSA approach to monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
 
 
Key Responsibilities/Projects:  
  • Support Sr. Director, Research, Evaluations, and Research Partnerships with day-to-day a ctivities  
  • Work on identification of data sets and potential for analysis for progress monitoring of domestic work.   
  • Support the work of Child Friendly Cities Initiative partners and Community Engagement Associates.  
  • Assist with KPI collection and data review for quality assurance.   
 

Qualifications:  
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a College or University degree program  
  • Interest in program management, local and state government, and data analysis or related field preferred  
  • Must have experience with community organizing, volunteer management, and a passion for inspiring others (extracurricular activities, leaders of clubs etc.)  
  • The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of children's rights and international issues, as well as a commitment to public service  
  • The ideal candidate will be a resourceful and energetic with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously with attention to detail  
  • Innovation, creativity, and a team player mentality are necessary for success in this role  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effective presentations and workshops and ease in public speaking for groups large and small  
  • Experience working with students or in educational programming is a plus  
  • Proven ability to work well with a diverse group of people in a team setting; additional language(s) a plus  
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience working with cross-country teams a plus  
  • Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred  
  • Must be a highly motivated team player who enthusiastically embraces the mission of UNICEF and UNICEF USA  
  • Must demonstrate UNICEF USA Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork and Service
 
 
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
