In Home Therapist

ABOUT CHILDREN SERVICES OF ROXBURY:
Founded in 1972 Children’s Services of Roxbury’s (CSR) mission is to provide high quality services to economically disadvantaged children, youth, families, and individuals thereby promoting and strengthening family life and individual growth. CSR serves approximately 6,000 families across Massachusetts, serving families through four key services areas; Early Education and Care, Behavioral Health Services, Youth and Family Services and Housing and Stabilization. There are 22 programs operating under those four services areas. CSR operates across in 4 cities, has a staff of 400 employees, and an operating budget of $28M.

OVERVIEW:
In-Home Therapy helps the family to support their child’s success in the home and community.

The service includes improving the family’s ability to provide effective support for their child to promote his or her healthy functioning within the family. In-Home Therapy is a structured, consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationship between a clinician, the youth and family to treat the youth’s behavioral health needs. This service is delivered by one or more members of a team offering a combination of training and support. The In-Home Therapy team, family and youth work together to develop a treatment plan and, using established psychotherapeutic techniques and intensive family therapy, works with the entire family or a subset of the family to implement focused interventions and behavioral techniques.

JOB SUMMARY:
In-Home Therapy is a structured, consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationship between a Master level clinician and the youth and family for the purpose of treating the youth’s behavioral health needs, including improving the family’s ability to provide effective support for the youth to promote his/her healthy functioning within the family.

Complete all required trainings, including CANS and CANS certification. include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide In- Home Therapy to youth/families. This service includes but is not limited to the following: conduct comprehensive home-based, behavioral health assessment inclusive of the age appropriate version of the Massachusetts CANS in the youth’s home or another location of family’s choice; develop youth and family-centered treatment plan in collaboration with caregiver(s); review and modification of the treatment plan as necessary; develop/review risk management/safety plan in collaboration with youth and caregiver(s); intensive therapy that may involve working with the entire family; identify community resources and develop natural supports for youth and caregiver(s); telephone and face-to-face coordination with collateral providers including state agencies and ESP/Mobile Crisis Intervention; refer and link youth and families to appropriate services along the continuum of care; coach youth and families in support of decision-making in crisis and non-crisis situations; provide skills training for youth and caregiver(s)

RESPONSIBILITIES: This service includes but is not limited to the following:
•  Use established psychotherapeutic techniques/interventions to help improve youth’s behavior, prevent inpatient admission, and strengthen caregiver(s) parenting skills
•  Conduct all necessary assessments in a timely manner and ensure that they are reviewed and approved as required prior to filing
•  Supervise Bachelor’s level In-Home Therapist to ensure that they are following the guidelines to support the implementation of the developed treatment plan to assist youth and family in achieving the goals of the plan
•  Work closely with Bachelor’s level In-Home Therapist to ensure delivery of high quality services
•  Maintain paper and electronic records in an orderly and timely manner
•  Participate and come prepared to weekly supervision and staff meetings
•  Ensure Medical case consultations are requested as needed
•  If youth is enrolled in Intensive Care Coordination, participate in all care planning meetings and processes for the youth.
•  Follow through with on-call policies and procedures
•  Attend necessary trainings
•  Ensure that all services are provided in a professional manner, ensuring privacy and safety

Measurable Goals:

•  Provide culturally competent services to ensure that the there is a recognition of economic status, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, race, language and the unique values and goals for each youth and family.
•  Willingness and ability to seek consultation and additional services when necessary to overcome barriers impacting the delivery of care
•  Treatment plan goals are achieved

EDUCATIONAL/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•  Must be a master’s level (or above) with at least 3 years experience in providing outpatient Behavioral health services to youth and families.
•  Experience managing a home-based or Wraparound program models is preferred.
•  Must be certified in the Massachusetts CBHI CANS
•  Must have a valid driver license without restrictions and have reliable transportation
•  Experience in navigating any of the child/family-serving systems and experience advocating for family members who are involved with behavioral health systems
•  Must have excellent writing and communication skills
