Assistant Director of Employer Engagement

Job Summary
Serves as a member of the Stuckert Career Center team, advancing its mission by developing and executing employer outreach, recruitment, and relationship management strategies that produce high quality full-time and internship opportunities for UK students. Uses expert understanding of the UK campus community to develop and implement customized and efficient strategies to meet employers’ hiring needs. Travels to key recruitment markets to conduct on-site visits with current and prospective employer contacts and University alumni to increase engagement with on-campus recruiting opportunities. Facilitates employer involvement in the Stuckert Center Employer Advisory Council, identifies new partners, solicits participation, and ensures that Stuckert Center programs and services meet and exceed employer partner expectations. Ensures accurate records of employer relations contacts, outreach efforts, and student engagement in employer-related activities and maintains these contacts utilizing career services management software. Regularly writes reports and presents information on the University’s employer relations strategy and activity to internal and external audiences. Creates and adheres to employer relations and development budgets. Produces regular reports on employer development efforts for internal and external audiences. Creates opportunities for current students to connect with prospective employers and college alumni by securing employer and alumni involvement in on- and off-campus networking events, including but not limited to career fairs, information sessions, career-related workshops, receptions, and site visits. Identifies and leverages existing and emerging technology solutions to create opportunities for students and employers to connect virtually. Plans and facilitates multiple career-related events, workshops and classroom presentations each semester on topics relating to job and internship search strategies and the career development process. This position will require understanding of market trends and the ability to develop strategies to improve and expand career opportunities for UK students. This position will identify and develop strong alliances with alumni, donors, corporate recruiters, faculty, staff and current students to sustain existing and cultivate new employer partnerships. Supervises staff associated with the Employer Relations unit and Experiential Education. Perform other duties to ensure the success of career services on behalf of UK, the Stuckert Career Center, its students, and alumni.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Extremely well organized with excellent follow-through ability. Effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities; experience in counseling, advising or teaching of students/adults on their career/professional development; ability to collaborate cross-functionally and to interface effectively with employers, students, alumni, faculty and university administrators; ability to embrace and drive change and to organize and manage multiple priorities, programs, and projects, both independently and in a team; proficient in the use of web-based software. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required; must demonstrate effective oral and written communication, program planning, presentation, and computer skills; ability to establish rapport and relate well to students, faculty, employers, and staff; ability to work with a diverse population of team members and constituents; willingness to work collaboratively with academic units; service-oriented approach; careful attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience
Prefer a Master’s degree in counseling, student personnel, human resources, higher education, communication, business administration, or related field; prefer a minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with college students; prefer 1-2 years supervising employees; prefer experience in college/university career services and/or in sourcing college talent for an employer (a minimum three years of experience is strongly desired).

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; occasional evenings and weekends
