
Research technician
Brandeis University has an exciting opportunity for a Research Technician to join Dr. Michael Rosbash’s laboratory in the Department of Biology in Waltham, MA. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will assist with experiments to support a group studying circadian rhythms, behavior and gene expression. This position provides excellent opportunities for continued scientific learning and development. The position is full-time (40 hours/week). Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist with experiments involving next generation sequencing, bioinformatics, single cell isolation, Drosophila genetics and/or general molecular biology depending on lab needs.
- Supervise undergraduate student research assistants performing lab support tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. degree in biological sciences
- Experience in a research laboratory setting
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Detail oriented with ability to learn tasks independently within scope of responsibility
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; flexible and able to respond well to changes in routine; possess excellent time management skills; able to handle multiple tasks or projects
