PAY AND BENEFITS

Annual Pay Range: $83,681.80 - $105,942.91

Hourly Pay Range: $40.231635 - $50.934093

Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Clackamas County's Library Support Services (LSS) seeks a collaborative, experienced, and IT-oriented library professional to join our team as the Library Network Technology Analyst.

The Library Network Technology Analyst is responsible for the daily operation and administration of library network and server infrastructure for Libraries in Clackamas County (LINCC), including hardware, software, security, and connectivity. The selected candidate will research, design, recommend, purchase, install, and maintain servers for member libraries and the LSS office. This position acts as the primary point of contact for vendors and LSS staff for server and network administration needs. The Library Network Technology Analyst also acts as liaison for county, city IT staff, and other technical working groups. This position will also provide Help Desk support to member libraries by identifying, responding to, and resolving PC and application issues on-site and via remote access. The person in this role will also manage WiFi systems for participating LINCC libraries and help administer self-checks, RFID pad readers, and automated materials handling (AMH) systems.

The Library Network Technology Analyst is also responsible for maintaining system security, resolving problems with vendors, and administering internet connectivity at member libraries and in the LSS office. The incumbent recommends and implements library network procedures and coordinates with member libraries to update and install library networking and server equipment.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience working with IT networking, server equipment, and virtualization, including configuration, maintenance, and administration
• Experience with Linux, *BSD, and Windows operating systems, as well as the use of open-source software
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships both internally and externally by exercising tact and independent judgment
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work early and late hours and/or holidays to meet timelines, provide off-hour upgrade and maintenance, and respond to emergency situations
• Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check
• Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. TYPICAL TASKS

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Acts as primary point of contact for vendors and local LINCC staff as it relates to server and network administration needs; acts as liaison for County, and City IT staff, and other technical working groups.
• Researches, designs, recommends, purchases, installs, and maintains servers for member libraries and program office; installs operating systems and configures servers to support various software needs; maintains and upgrades servers and systems as necessary; installs, configures upgrades, maintains, and tests application software.
• Creates, implements, and revises disaster recovery procedures for library data, and monitors daily operations of servers; manages server equipment and offsite backup; monitors resources to identify vendor updates, security bugs, problems, patches, and solutions related to network and server administration and security.
• Researches, designs, recommends, purchases, installs and maintains all networking infrastructure necessary to connect member libraries and the LSS office to the internet and ILS, including managing switches, firewall, network health monitoring and bandwidth utilization software; implements data security policies and corresponding hardware & software; coordinates with County Network Designer and Internet Provider (Clackamas ESD); prepares RFP for library networking needs, analyzes responses, recommends vendor and equipment purchases to the Library Support Services Manager.
• Identifies, responds to, and resolves PC, printing, and application issues on site and via remote access, which includes on-call after-hours support as assigned; collaborates with telecommunications vendors to resolve problems in linking member libraries to the network in ILS.
• Recommends, purchases, installs, and manages Wi-Fi systems for participating LINCC libraries; performs integration procedures for DHCP and DNS servers.
• Assists in the administration of self-checks, RFID pad readers, POS printers, and automated materials handling (AMH) systems.
• Attends meetings of technical library groups; advises Library Support Services staff and member library staff on status of projects; leads the work of volunteers.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Incumbent typically works in a variety of setting and locations. Work requires the ability to bend, crawl, climb, stoop and be available at sites to provide client support in the installation, repair and maintenance of hardware and software. Incumbent must be able to lift or move personal computers, servers, and peripheral equipment which may weigh up to fifty pounds. Frequently works early and late hours and/or holidays to meet timelines, provide off-hour upgrade and maintenance, and respond to emergency situations.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position is included in the County's alternate workweek program, working 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off). Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

LINCC Library Support Services provides a variety of centralized services to the 13 independent, autonomous member libraries of the LINCC cooperative, including:

• Integrated Library System (ILS) administration and support
• Network administration and desktop computer management/support
• Centralized cataloging, bibliographic data maintenance, and technical services support
• Materials handling services, including a 7-day/week courier service, daily sorting of all transited library materials, and centralized Interlibrary Loan (ILL) management
• Working closely with LINCC professional committees (Adult Services, Youth Services, Teen Services, Innovation and Marketing, Multicultural Services, Circulation, and Technical Services) to facilitate and support the development and implementation of cooperative-wide practices, procedures, and initiatives
• Centralized procurement, contract administration, and invoicing for member libraries.

The services and support we provide help LINCC member libraries to share their collections, offer patrons a consistent customer experience, identify and take advantage of opportunities for cooperative-wide efficiencies, and collaboratively develop and implement initiatives to improve the quality, variety, and responsiveness of library services throughout the cooperative.
