Advertising Sales Representative

Essential Job Functions and Duties: (general list in order of importance – major tasks, duties, and responsibilities performed.)
•        Responsible for supervising/managing all retail advertising sales
•        Plan sales programs and projects with efficiency and effectiveness of the Retail Advertising Department.
•        Recommend changes that would improve the effectiveness of achieving the objectives of the Retail Department.
•        Monitor and manage the retail sales staff against budgeted sales objectives.
•        Collect and evaluate sales data to determine the attainment of sales objectives.
•        Prepare sales forecasts and recommend sales quotas for retail sales.
•        Call on existing or potential accounts as needed to resolve and/or refer customer problems to the appropriate department.
•        Coordinate information regarding advertising and sale promotion activities.
•        Maintain contacts with outside sales agencies, associations, and media representatives relative to the retail advertising function.
•        Manage to report and appraise the results of each sales program against planned objectives.
•        Analyze the competitive position of the Union Leader’s products and services.
•        Responsible directly for the management of service problems.
•        Reviews, and evaluates the effectiveness of advertising materials.
•        Consult with the Sales manager on more difficult duties.
