About the role

The plant Quality Analyst provides site leadership for Food Safety and Quality in alignment with the Kerry Corporate Policies. This position reports to the Quality Supervisor and has a functional reporting relationship to the Production team. This position requires 5-10% travel.
 

Key responsibilities

1.   Food Safety: Ensure effective food safety compliance and work with plant management team to implement programs to mitigate risk. Lead HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices, preventive controls, and prerequisite programs are in place and effective. Daily review of HACCP documents for positive product release, review of shipping records, and raw material release.
2.   Quality Systems: Develop and maintain food safety and quality systems including QC & QA. Develop, review and align procedures with corporate policies with a drive towards best practice. Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent non-conformances. Quality system shall include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in Intelex and SAP, material control, sanitation, and HACCP, as required.
3.   Compliance: Enforce Kerry standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Assist the site for regulatory inspections, identify preserved (ie, organic, kosher) and customer audits.
4.   Quality Improvement: Track report and review agreed upon KPI’s. Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Plan. Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement.
5.   Technical Skills: Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving. 

This position requires 75% manufacturing floor presence with 25% of the workload assisting in quality systems programs such as Intelex, SAP, SOPs, etc.
 

Qualifications and skills

•   Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, or related. In lieu of a degree, 5+ years in relevant quality experience is required.
•   Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, Intelex)
•   Strong Communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
•   Strong team leadership and development skill
•   Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities 
•   Knowledge and experience with relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS, FS 22000
•   Analytical skills
•   Effectively organize and manage multiple work tanks of diverse nature
•   Knowledge and experience with quality management systems, GFSI audit standards, sanitation SOPs, environmental hygiene programs, prerequisite programs, and HACCP
