News Internship
Marshfield Community Media is looking for college students to assist in providing news to the community of Marshfield and surrounding South Shore Towns.
This is a hands on experience necessary to prepare for the broadcast journalism world. The program is open to students who are majoring in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field of study. You will be filming, producing and editing stories for our newscast, Marshfield Community News.
Students may also earn college credit depending upon the specifications of their school or can volunteer for non-credit. Interns will be expected to do research in order to find stories and upcoming events relevant to our area. At least one news story per week is expected with an average length of 2-3 minutes. This a great opportunity to have a resume reel by the time you finish your internship.
Hours per week: 10-15 hrs/week (depending on college program requirements)
Job grade level: Intern. This is a 3-month or full semester program, and opportunity for college credit.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a 2 or 4 year university
- Some experience with multimedia news production
- Organized, self motivated, and the can work under pressure with fast turnaround times
- Must work well with others and have good people skills.
- Having an understanding of the Marshfield community is a plus but not required
