Child and Family Social Worker

As a Child and Family Social Worker, you'll ensure that children referred through social service, probation, or mental health departments receive the support they need to thrive in their homes and communities. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you'll provide direct services to children and families, including clinical and care coordination functions, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure everyone works together towards stability for the child and family. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and progress notes, providing direct services in various settings, including families' homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, and more. With a focus on flexibility, you'll be expected to work evenings and weekends when needed to meet the needs of the families and children in your care.
 
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Wraparound Programs work in close partnership with Department of Social Services, Juvenile Probation, Behavioral Health, and group homes. Wraparound provides strengths-based and outcome-oriented alternatives to group care placements for children and youth by drawing upon community and family strengths. The Wraparound team builds consensus and leverages the strengths of its members to identify and meet needs that require intervention to support the child/youth and family in reaching their long-term goals.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and caregivers on a weekly basis to further treatment goals  
  • Develop Child and Family teams for the purpose of treatment planning and support
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers 
  • Coordinate and implement overall treatment and services for assigned clients  
  • Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate 
  • Intervene with the clients’ behavior management programs as needed 
  • Chart mental health notes, treatment plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner  
  • Participate in crisis response system  
  • Participate in individual and/or group supervision 
  • Function as team leader and uphold the ideals of the program  

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling required
  • LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or license eligible with the California BBS
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are preferred
  • Experience working with children in out-of-home care is preferred  
  • Willing to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating emergency pager system 
  • Cultural competency; Ability to work with a diverse population  
  • Good organizational and writing skills  
  • Own vehicle, valid California driver’s license and insurability through Seneca’s vehicle policy
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and all other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday
  • Flexible schedule required with the ability to work some evening/weekend hours as needed
  • Availability to be part of on-call rotating emergency pager system

  • Starting at $67,000- $81,000 annually, the actual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
