2023 Sponsor Coverage Analyst

Position: Financial Technology Partners (“FT Partners”) is seeking Full-Time Analysts with a focus on Financial Sponsor Coverage to begin in July 2023.

Role Description

Analysts in Sponsor Coverage focus on supporting high priority investment banking business development activities, strengthening our relationships with the investor community and executing on M&A transactions involving financial buyers. While working at FT Partners, you will become an expert in FinTech while also learning the "ins and outs" of M&A and private capital raising, business development strategy and industry research. In addition to deal execution and relationship building, the role will also require the execution of key strategic initiatives, including working with senior software engineers to design and implement data infrastructure to provide better solutions for internal and external clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform financial modeling, company valuation, and financial performance analysis
  • Prepare reports, tables, and charts that present research results
  • Work alongside senior bankers to provide clients with M&A and financing advice
  • Develop high-impact, market facing deliverables including sell-side pitches, views on market trends, and analyses of investment / acquisition activity across FinTech
  • Assist senior bankers in developing and implementing business development strategies and facilitating dialogue with Executive and Board level contacts
  • Leverage FT Partners’ proprietary database and alternative data sources to identify emerging trends in FinTech

General Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a top tier undergraduate program, graduating by Summer 2023
  • Undergraduate degree with a 3.5 GPA or greater
  • Investment banking or related interest, and general interest in private equity
  • Strong work ethic and a drive for excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering top-quality work
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and takes initiative
  • Strong data management and research skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical ability with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to perform under pressure amid tight deadlines
  • Team player with an ability to build trust and collaborate across teams and levels
  • High level of commitment to the firm’s goals and success
  • Ability to competently navigate investment firms and speak with investment professionals
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of high impact materials
  • Participate effectively in both internal and external meetings
  • High-level of integrity and ethical standards through action and behavior
  • Familiarity with CRM processes and systems is a plus
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization is required
