Mental Health Therapist - Work with Youth!

Want to help improve the lives of youth in your community? Seneca is looking for a Mental Health Therapist dedicated to supporting our youth and families to achieve stability. 
 
As a Mental Health Therapist in the Wraparound program, the primary role is to provide individual and if needed family therapy services to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. You will be working with a multidisciplinary team that ensuring all mental health needs are addressed. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community: in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc.
 
ABOUT WRAPAROUND
Seneca offers intensive "Wraparound" services to children and youth at risk of placement in a high-level residential treatments or juvenile hall, and to their families. The Wraparound programs are strengths-based, family-driven, flexible, and creative, with the goal of helping the family develop the skills and supports to prevent or reduce the possibility of residential placement of their child. A family-based team addresses the needs of the entire family, not just the at-risk child. This family-based team consists of family members, Seneca's Care Coordinators, Youth counselors, Parent Partners, Permanency Specialist and other community members who have an important role in the family,

Seneca supports clinicians towards licensure and beyond. We provide individual and group supervision, regular clinical case conferences, licensure and renewal courses led by field experts. Clinical stipend for expenses such as outside trainings or licensure fees. $4,000 salary increase upon getting licensed. Professional Development Scholarships to achieve certifications in areas such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or Spanish for mental health practitioners. 

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and caregivers on a weekly basis to further treatment goals through individual and family therapy.
  • Participates in most Child and Family Teams developed by the Wrap Social Worker/Care Coordinator/Facilitator.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with community members and providers.
  • Coordinate and implement overall treatment and services for assigned clients.
  • Provide assistance in case planning and consultation to team members on clinical issues, as well as casework issues, as appropriate.
  • Intervene with the clients’ behavior management programs as needed.
  • Work with Wrap Social Worker on treatment planning, clinical assessment and diagnoses.
  • Chart mental health notes, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide direction to treatment team on clinical issues, casework issues and written reports for each case
  • Part of the Rapid Response Crisis on-call calendar
  • Participate in individual and/or group supervision.
  • Maintain professional behavior at all times, appropriately representing the Seneca mission and philosophy.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in psychology/social work/counseling.
  • Must be eligible to register with California BBS.
  • Experience working with children in home settings or in the community, a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) abilities a plus!
  • Strong organizational, writing, communication, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Valid CA Driver’s license, and insurable under Seneca Family of Agencies insurance policy.
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Schedule

  • Full-time 
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work evenings and weekend days as needed

Benefits

  • Annual salary is $67,000 - $81,000 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
