Role:
Based in New York, as part of a global team, the Risk Manager, will assist with the analysis and oversight of the equity derivatives and Prime brokerage activities of Jefferies. The role also encompasses assisting with risk oversight of regulated US Swaps Dealer that operates across asset classes.
With the help of our Risk Policies and the overarching Risk Management Framework and in compliance with the Risk Appetite Statements of the Board, the team works directly with the business and in partnership with our second line partners and is directly responsible for sanctioning decisions around material trades, defining and refinement of risk methodologies and the identification and assessment of emerging risks.
Responsibilities include
- Daily MI sign off.
- Daily review and evaluation of our Structured and Flow derivatives portfolios.
- Daily review and evaluation of our Prime Brokerage portfolios.
- Escalation of existing and evolving risks as appropriate.
- Proactive communication with the team and with partners through informal channels as well scheduled meetings.
- Drive ongoing improvement in methodologies and analytic capabilities.
- Adherence to and implementation of our global risk framework.
Requirements:
- 3 years+ working in a function supporting structured derivatives, or Prime Brokerage independent of asset class
- STEM or Finance based degree
- Proven ability to assess quantitative and qualitative risks impacting derivatives businesses
- Strong working ability with SQL, Python
- PHD in Data Science (desired)

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $160,000.
