Onboarding Coordinator - (1217)

The minimum base hourly rate for this position is $21.65 and the maximum starting hourly rate is $28.85, plus additional annual profit-sharing bonus potential. Salary may vary based on education, knowledge and experience.
 
Job Description:
The Onboarding Coordinator will work closely with new WEST employees after the initial onboarding/paperwork phases of the new hire process is complete to ensure that new hires have a smooth and positive onboarding experience. The Onboarding Coordinator will be responsible for a broad variety of administrative, operational and support services, which includes acclimating the new employees into the WEST culture, scheduling and facilitating onboarding trainings and will remain in close contact with them as they transition into their new roles. Additional responsibilities include drafting and revising onboarding plans for the various positions at WEST, ensuring all plans comply with WEST’s standards and protocols and are reviewed and approved by management prior to administering the training.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Diligently work to thoroughly learn the company culture, services, systems, processes, protocols, and staff onboarding needs at WEST.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for new hires during the onboarding process, answering questions and providing support as needed.
  • Coordinate with various departments and stakeholders to schedule and facilitate new hire orientation sessions, training, and other onboarding activities.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving the onboarding process based on feedback from new hires and stakeholders.
  • Tracking and monitoring new hire progress throughout the onboarding process, identifying and addressing any issues or concerns, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Collaborate with HR, the Corporate Training Coordinator and hiring managers to ensure that onboarding processes align with the organization's strategies.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices and trends related to onboarding and talent management and making recommendations for process improvements and enhancements.
  • Participate in regular meetings to communicate onboarding status and relevant updates.

Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, training or other related discipline or equivalent experience is preferred,
  • Experience or education in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Natural Resources, Human Resources or related field is beneficial.
  • A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of previous human resources, customer service and/or coordination experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with employees and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to comfortably and effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • Proactive with excellent time management, planning and organizational skills with the ability to work well with busy workloads and under time constraints.
  • Ability to learn technical and scientific terminology.
  • Ability to consistently generate results with a high level of credibility, integrity, professionalism, customer service and motivation.
  • Highly collaborative work ethic.
  • High level of literacy.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving/analysis skills.
  • Ability to utilize diverse communication tools and presentation delivery styles.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Sit and talk in an office setting, often for long periods of time.
  • Stand for long periods of time during training sessions.
  • Bend or stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
 
After an offer of employment is made, the candidate must successfully pass a pre- employment background check, drug screening, and a DMV records check that meets WEST’s minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company. A valid driver’s license will be required.
