NCIS is seeking individuals who possess strong academic credentials, outstanding character, and a high degree of motivation for the NCIS Internship Program. The NCIS Internship Program offers candidates a unique perspective into the agency, its mission, and what it takes to serve in one of the elite law enforcement organizations within the federal government and the world. 

This minimum 12-week experience immerses interns in unique experiences such as law enforcement, national security, intelligence, and cyber while working alongside experienced NCIS personnel. This opportunity is open to all academic backgrounds and NCIS strives to place candidates in various disciplines that match their experience, studies, and interests.
 
The program is an unpaid internship, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution. Relocation/travel expenses are not covered or reimbursed by NCIS. Interns must work a minimum of 16 hours per week.

This is a hands-on internship in a structured and supportive environment for interns to learn and grow, with opportunities to work on real cases and projects including, not but limited to:

• Conduct open source research in a variety of different subject areas in line with the NCIS mission.
• Assist Special Agents in reviewing and organizing investigative case files.
• Support information gathering efforts for investigations and operations.
• Evaluate intelligence reports to identify any and all pertinent information pertaining to potential threats to Department of Navy assets.
• Provide insight and analysis to cases involving use of various social media platforms. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: To be considered for the program, individuals must meet the following criteria:
·      U.S. Citizenship
·      Enrolled not less than half time in a baccalaureate or graduate degree program at the time of application and for the entire internship timeframe
·      Must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)
·      Favorable completion of criminal history checks and credit checks
·      Favorable review of T3 investigation and submission for a secret clearance
