Clinican (Center for Trauma and Resilience)

Be part of a new and exciting JCFS program! This is a great opportunity to provide assessment and brief treatment therapy to clients who are experiencing mental health symptoms related to a traumatic event. This position will also facilitate psycho-education groups with a focus on resilience building for community members. We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative therapist for a hybrid position offering both teletherapy and in-office work.
Client/Family Therapy
  • Provides assessment and brief treatment therapy to clients who are experiencing mental health symptoms related to a traumatic event
  • Facilitates psycho education groups with a focus on resilience building for community members
  • Opportunity to run a monthly group with a focus on mind, body spirit health (yoga, mindfulness, meditation, art)
  • Clinician will receive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapy and EMDR
  • Receive weekly individual reflective supervision
  • Carries a caseload for both teletherapy and in-office work involving any or all of the Agency’s services, which will include, including individual, child, family, couples, and may include group treatment modality.
  • Performs a full range of clinical duties, including the gathering and analysis of data, formulation of assessment and creation of treatment plans.
  • Formulates understanding of clients’ situations, providing appropriate services with supervisory consultation.
  • Participate in weekly group supervision 
  • Attend agency-held clinical training
  • Attention will be paid to staff resiliency in trauma work in the structure of the CTR

REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage & Family Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Strong clinical field placements or internships. Couples and/or family therapy experience preferred.
  • Self-awareness and the ability to remain calm and professional when handling conflict and disruptive behaviors
  • Able to work evenings two days per week.  
  • Requires an ability to move between West Rogers Park, Skokie and Northbrook. This position may require visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation.
