Director of BoardLead 2023

DESCRIPTION 
The Director of BoardLead will be a deeply passionate, mission-driven leader, overseeing the design, implementation, management and outcomes of Cause Strategy Partners’ signature program, BoardLead. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Director of BoardLead will oversee program excellence for Cause Strategy Partners’ flagship program, Boardlead. Major responsibilities include: 
● Setting and tracking high level BoardLead program goals across all active rounds
● Coordinating BoardLead program deadlines, milestones, and processes 
● Leading a team of BoardLead Program Managers, Senior Program Associates, and Program Associates to ensure effective program delivery by providing resources, materials, tools, and training needed to equip the BoardLead team and program for success, specifically: 
  • Monitoring workflow and capacity of direct and indirect reports, making adjustments to responsibilities as necessary, to ensure a challenging yet appropriate workload. 
  • Supporting direct and indirect reports in developing execution plans for their various responsibilities.
  • Being attuned to individuals’ professional development goals and opportunities for growth.
  • Creating opportunities for team-building and connection within and across teams
Serving as a primary program liaison to corporate partners, including: 
  • Supporting corporate liaisons throughout their full BoardLead experience. 
  • Ensuring understanding of important program milestones. 
  • Sharing and interpreting BoardLead outcome data relevant to their candidates’ experience.
  • Creating opportunities for corporate liaisons to connect and exchange with each other about BoardLead and board placement.
  • Equiping Program Managers to serve as program liaisons to corporate partners in these ways, as well. 
● Partnering with the Leadership Team to support the continued geographic expansion of BoardLead using an innovative program model launched in January 2023. This includes:
  • Working closely with the Chief Program Officer and Founder/CEO, support the ongoing research, improvement, and development of the BoardLead model.
  • Collaborating with the Chief Program Officer to ensure effective use of team resources for program delivery, and supporting the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion into program training materials.
  • Partnering with the Director of Strategic Growth to guide the strategy and planning for BoardLead, including guiding geographic priorities and BoardLead around timing decisions.
● Supporting the development and delivery of Governance Training for nonprofits, board candidates and BoardLeaders, and other relevant stakeholders 
● Performing other duties necessary to effectively administer the program as it develops
● Supporting ongoing internal and external engagements in partnership with the Cause Strategy Partners team 

SKILLS 
The Director of BoardLead reports into the Chief Program Officer. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including: 
  1. Strong verbal and written communication: a great deal of time will be invested in building meaningful relationships with a host of internal and external stakeholders. 
  2. Strong oversight and decision-making capabilities: candidate must be adept in managing resources, decisions, and teams in successful program delivery. 
  3. Program Evaluation: experience designing, collecting, and analyzing data to make program improvements. Familiarity with modern database technologies is preferred. 
  4. Technological and design prowess: candidate must be skilled in identifying, building, and supporting the development of tools and technologies that facilitate the effective delivery of a key program. 
  5. Highly efficient & organized self-starter: as an earlier-stage, fast-growing consulting social enterprise, Cause Strategy Partners has a team that shows up each day with an entrepreneurial spirit and an eagerness to build something great for our society. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
● Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of Cause Strategy Partners and BoardLead. 
● A number of years of program leadership experience, with a track record of capacity building, implementing and scaling program activities. 
● Experience managing teams, preferably in the social good organizational context.
● A proven ability to build trusted partnerships and service offerings with a variety of partners including nonprofit leaders and corporate professionals from CSR, HR/Talent, corporate communications, or other relevant functional area teams. 
● A demonstrated passion for and familiarity with the importance of the nonprofit sector to society. 
● An understanding and belief in the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
● Ability to work effectively in a full-time virtual team environment. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 
Base Salary Range: $92,000-$100,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.

● Remote work with opportunities to connect in person: Cause Strategy Partners’ 
headquarters are in New York City, but our organization will remain a virtual workplace for the foreseeable future. All open roles are remote opportunities, with the expectation that the employee is willing and able to travel to in-person all-team activities as necessary, including two multiple-day all team retreats each year.
