Refugee Cash Assistance Intern

Job Overview/Summary: The Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) Program Intern provides support to the RCA Program Specialists under the direction of the RCA Program Coordinator in the collection of client documents, RCA enrollment and pre-enrollment analysis, client outreach, and documentation. The RCA Program Intern is required to be present in the office with the opportunity to work remotely if needed. The RCA Program Intern will work across office teams to ensure participant success and continued compliancy with funder and program requirements. 

Responsibilities 
  • Conduct pre-enrollment analyses with eligible clients and assist with RCA enrollment. 
  • Track client documentation to ensure accurate and timely documentation completion. 
  • Assist in filing and uploading client documentation to the corresponding IRC databases. 
  • Other duties as identified by the RCA Program Coordinator. 
 
Learning Objectives 
  • Intern will gain insight into refugee and asylee workforce integration programs. 
  • Intern will learn to create and track documentation and gain experience with time management. 
  • Intern will learn to communicate effectively with clients across cultures and with interpreters.  
  • Intern will learn effective outreach strategies for building strategic relationships. 
 
Qualifications 
  • Minimum commitment of ____ months and at least ______ hours per week. _____ hours per week preferred. 
  • Ability to work in-person preferred. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including cross-cultural communication. 
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment and adapts quickly to change. 
  • Strong interest in refugee and asylee issues and economic empowerment. 
  • Language skills in Swahili, Kibembe, Kinyarwanda, Chichiwa, Lingala, Arabic, Ukrainian, Sgaw Karen, Burmese, or Russian is a plus.
