The position of SRA Agricultural Production Research is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of field operations and implementation of dynamic applied research and extension programs in small farm and urban agriculture, horticulture, composting, and animal science conducted by the University of California Cooperative Extension at Martial Cottle Park, San Jose, CA. This role requires an independent thinker and doer, who works under direction in managing hoop houses, small farm plots, raised beds, pasture, compost systems, water systems, fences and all related equipment that supports Urban Agriculture, Small Farms, Composting Education, and pasture livestock for UCCE Martial Cottle Park parcels. In collaboration with academic supervisors from Small Farm and Urban Agriculture the candidate will engage in difficult and complex research projects, taking charge of the execution of research and demonstration projects including preparing scientific and extension publications. Candidate will direct the work of community partners, and UCCE program staff and volunteers to accomplish research, outreach and education goals that benefit the health of the local community while promoting sustainable agricultural programs.

This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.

Pay Scale: $68,549.75/year to $86,950.63/year
