REMOTE Public Health Research & Coordinator for Plant-Based Organization

The Assuaged Foundation is a national, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, headquartered in Green Valley Lake, California. Our visionary plant-based organization is dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyles and is seeking a talented individual like you to join our team as a REMOTE Public Health Research & Coordinator for Plant-Based Organization.

At Assuaged Foundation, our mission is to foster a transformative remote internship program, coupling AI and digital marketing to empower marginalized college students. By integrating affluent mentors and military veterans, we cultivate digitally proficient leaders of tomorrow, thereby boosting their post-graduation employability. Through this immersive learning experience, we aim to educate, inspire, and uplift, contributing to the digital future of the health and wellness industry.

Our mentor and stakeholder is Jeff Hoffman for the World Youth Horizons cause. Students will work on materials related to the Assuaged Public Health Organization and WYH.

We strive to help people make health-conscious choices following health psychology and nutritional counseling principles to identify and improve health behavior. 

Our goal is to advance the nation's Public Health system to combat the global burden of chronic disease.

Position title: Research & Health Coordinator

Type: Educational Internship (10-20 hours per week)

Division: Public Health and Communications

Reports to: Vice President and Executive Director

Location: Remote 

Internship Objectives:

  • Describe in depth the functioning of the software needs as pertains to the public health data provided by Assuaged.
  • Analyze public health data of Assuaged and propose innovative solutions to them at the graduate level.
  • Acquire new skills and advance existing skills through on-the-job training.
  • Assume a leadership role in planning and managing.
  • Communicate effectively and make a professional presentation in front of a faculty audience.
  • Practice writing skills as exemplified in a professional report and paper.

The Intern will perform public health research to understand the environmental, genetic, and social health determinants that influence population health. The research will involve crosscutting and disciplinary measures to analyze population samples including biological factors, biostatistics, epidemiology, and genetics.

Students accomplish research tasks through educational programs, the creation, the implementation of policies, and the administration of services with the primary objective of public health to promote healthcare equity, quality, and accessibility.

Interns will write healthcare content entailing concise research, including a clear understanding of highly technical information. Students will follow guides gaining the ability to explain that information in a way that is easily understood and accessible to our target audience. Interns will learn how to optimize content for SEO while gaining a baseline understanding of how to write about topics in a way that promotes healthy SEO and reaches our intended audience.

Interns will contribute to the overall leadership of the team. Responsibilities will include finalizing the survey design, developing data collection tools, coordinating activities, arranging periodic meetings, consolidating individual input from team members, and coordinating the process, and analyzing the data.

The intern will develop goals for Assuaged and implement processes so that goals will be met. Responsibilities will include determining targets for Assuaged in efforts to prepare strategic plans to ensure that targets are met.

The intern will analyze existing strategies and practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop innovative strategies related to the goals they help establish. Duties will be specifically focused on areas like public health research and delivery, product development, or marketing strategies.
