Investment Banking Analyst or Associate

Philpott Ball & Werner, LLC (“PB&W”) is a private investment bank with offices in Beverly, MA and Charlotte, NC. Our services include mergers, acquisitions, company sales, fairness opinions, valuations, and select private capital placements. The Company was established in 1991 and is a leading advisor in the aerospace, defense, government intelligence, technology and industrial market segments. PB&W’s clients are primarily based in the US, Canada, United Kingdom and European Union. All security transactions are conducted by Philpott Ball & Werner, LLC, a member company of FINRA and SIPC.

Position Overview:

The following is a brief overview of the position we are seeking to fill to further support the Company’s growth objectives. An Analyst may perform the following activities at PB&W, among others:

Financial Analysis – An Analyst should be well versed in accounting and finance. Analysts will work closely with PB&W’s senior and mid-level bankers in support of select financial and accounting activities. Such activities may include the evaluation of companies’ historical performance along with detailed forecasting of revenues, income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements. Analysts may assist in determining the value of client companies using comparative company analysis and other methodologies. 

Market Research – An Analyst will support and conduct economic and market-specific research that may be utilized in presentations and research materials. Such market research will include following and updating public company performance indexes developed by PB&W.

Development of Confidential Memorandums and Management Presentations – An Analyst should have strong business writing and communication skills as they will be supporting the development of memorandums, presentations and market studies. Analyst should be proficient with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel and familiar with Capital IQ.

Valuations– PB&W values securities for private companies for various economic and tax reasons. Analyst may support such valuations and are required to conduct financial analysis including evaluation of historical financial statements, writing of valuation reports, forecasting future performance, conducting comparative valuation analysis and applying multiple valuation methodologies. Entry level Analyst will be provided training and will support merger and acquisition engagements, fairness opinions and valuation projects.

PB&W is a private investment bank and all client and employee information is strictly confidential. PB&W requires all employees and Analysts to adhere to its policies and regulatory obligations of FINRA and the Security and Exchange Commission. All employees and Analysts will be required to execute confidentiality agreements and are subject to background checks. Due to PB&W’s client base, all candidates should be U.S. Citizens.

All candidates should submit a resume that includes their GPA and an overview of their familiarity with certain software including Excel, Capital IQ and Power Point. Minimum GPA of 3.5 required

An Analyst may be located in PB&W’s Beverly (North Shore of Boston) or Charlotte Offices.
