Volunteer Program Fall Internship
The Volunteer Department at Sanctuary for Families is recruiting an intern to join our team in the Fall of 2023. Sanctuary for Families is the leading nonprofit in New York State dedicated exclusively to serving domestic violence victims, sex trafficking victims, and their children.
The Volunteer Program intern will work on a range of projects supporting events, our volunteer database, and holiday programming. This internship is great for individuals who love to engage people as well as having computer skills to assist with important database projects.
Our internship will be hybrid with a flexible schedule. We do ask the intern to come in-person once a week (Tuesday or Thursday is preferred). Estimated start date for this internship would be October 2nd with an end date being December 15th.
Responsibilities
o Assist with reviewing volunteer applications
o Support volunteer screening interviews
o Help with Fall SFF events that volunteers or the Development Team supports
o Assist with holiday programming – creating wish lists, auditing lists, and volunteer group support in November-mid December
o Attend weekly team meetings on Mondays at 1 PM if schedule allows
o Assist with any additional task within reason
Qualifications
This position is open to undergraduate students. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal, computer, and communication skills. Experience in philanthropic volunteering or passion for ending gender violence is preferred.
