Project Inspire Teacher Resident

Earn your Master’s degree and teaching licensure during a paid teacher residency. Every student, regardless of zip code, deserves amazing teachers. Project Inspire trains college graduates to become the great teachers that students deserve. Project Inspire residents believe teaching is a commitment to justice and opportunity for students who have been left out of the public education system.

About: Project Inspire teacher residency is an alternative teacher licensure pathway and is centered around a full-year teaching apprenticeship in the classroom of an effective, specially selected mentor teacher, called a clinical instructor. Residents gradually assume full teaching responsibility as they demonstrate proficiency with different high-leverage, equitable teaching practices. Most importantly, by spending much of the spring semester positioned as the “lead teacher,” residents demonstrate clear evidence of measurable student growth before entering the profession. Residents also complete graduate coursework leading to licensure in one year and a Master's degree in two years. After completing the residency year, residents then commit to teaching for at least 4 years in a high-needs Hamilton County School, with the strategic goal of clustering program graduates in feeder patterns for impact.

Resident Duties : The Project Inspire residency experience integrates different activities during the residency year, including:
