Learning and Development Internship

Position Summary:

The Bimbo Bakeries USA Summer Internship Program affords students a remarkable experience to participate in fast-paced real-world projects designed to further develop strategic project management, analytical problem solving, and managerial leadership skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of functional areas of the business and have the chance to connect with leaders in the organization to build business acumen and their network. 

The Learning & Development Intern will be a part of the North America Talent, Learning & Development Team, which supports Bimbo Bakeries USA and Bimbo Canada.  In this role, the L&D Intern will be exposed to all areas of learning and development including Leadership Development, Learning Delivery, and Learning Technologies.  This role will focus on projects and process improvements across the team while providing thought leadership and identify creative solutions and deliverables to build upon the range of formal learning experiences and development opportunities we provide the organization. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and supporting successful implementation of programs and resources which improve leadership skills, behaviors and capabilities, team effectiveness, and associate performance, development, and engagement
  • Support development of content and program structure for frontline and salaried associates including onboarding materials, learning roadmap, and talent catalogs
  • Connect with broader Learning & Development Team to gain exposure to cross-functional partnerships such as the Sales Center of Excellence, Operations, and Supply Chain that are supported through functional development programs
  • Support the development and execution plan of our global and local Talent Programs including onboarding, leadership development, outreach programs, coaching and mentoring programs, and executive leadership programs

Education and Work History:

  • Candidate should be currently in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree
  • Previous Co-op or intern experience is a plus
  • Flexible schedule available, however, must be willing to work at minimum 30 hours / week
