USLI’s College Help Program connects students to a variety of opportunities within our company. We employ approximately 200 college students during the summer and around 170 students during the school year. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful work experiences that prepare them for their next step professionally while exploring a career in the insurance industry.

USLI’s 50/50 College Help Program is a paid, part-time work experience. Candidates for the 50/50 College Help Program will work in one of USLI’s customer’s offices (a wholesale brokerage or a retail agency) in a location local to them. We are hiring for positions in the following locations:

In addition to gaining exposure to the wholesale brokerage/retail agency work environment, students will also interact with USLI, an insurance carrier, and our sales managers.

Eligible candidates must be enrolled in at least six credits per semester at a two- or four-year college/university. You must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week, with a maximum of 29 hours a week, in at least four hours blocks on the days you choose to work. We have no GPA or major requirement, and previous experience is not necessary.

We are seeking candidates with the following skills:

•                    Strong oral and written communication skills

•                    Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Docs Editors

•                    Creative and open to sharing new ideas

•                    Ability to work independently

•                    Attention to detail

•                    Professionalism

•                    Coachable

What are the essential functions of the role?

•                    Track daily/weekly results for the team

•                    Run and compile reports

•                    Maintain an accurate database

•                    Assist with recruiting efforts

•                    Plan and create promotional materials

•                    Prospect, or identify potential customers, via web searches

Additional duties:

Interact with team leaders, sales managers and 50/50 Program participants in different capacities.

This specific position provides a cross-training opportunity with USLI’s Customer Distribution team.
