Budgeting and Planning Consultant

The Team:

 

The financial modelers, data analysts and product experts of the Professional Services team help financial institutions harness the full potential of Empyrean’s software solutions through consulting, implementation services and training.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Implement Empyrean's budgeting and planning, profitability, and funds transfer pricing solutions for financial institutions of all sizes
  • Train clients on functional and technical matters related to Empyrean’s products
  • Advise clients on best practices for net interest margin forecasting, non-interest income and expense modeling, capital expenditure and payroll planning
  • Prepare and present risk measurement reports and analyses to clients
  • Act as a liaison between Empyrean's product management team and the user community
  • Follow all applicable policies and controls
  • Ensure customer data and sensitive data is transmitted using approved channels
  • Maintain the integrity of the sensitive customer data in line with policies and controls

 

Experience and Education:

 

  • Degree in finance, accounting or related discipline
  • Experience in banking, budgeting or financial planning and analysis
  • Understanding of a bank's balance sheet
  • Understanding of loan payment calculations
  • Understanding of accounting and financial statements
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience working with large datasets
  • Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills

 

Preferred skills:

 

  • Bank FP&A or ALM software experience
  • A graduate degree in accounting or finance
  • Knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
  • Business intelligence or reporting software experience (Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Understanding of fixed-income math
