Research Technician I - Li Lab

Position Description

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a motivated and responsible candidate for an immediate Research Technician opportunity. This individual will be a key contributor to a research project that seeks to understand how the brain interacts with body physiology in the contexts of obesity and Parkinson’s disease. We are looking for commitment of 2 or more years on this project. This opportunity would provide an ideal training environment to prepare for enrollment in graduate school after this 2+ year commitment.

Position Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing the lab, maintaining mouse colonies, genotype different transgenic mouse lines as well as a variety of basic research/laboratory tasks.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biological
EXPERIENCE: The candidate should have prior experience working in a molecular biology, cell biology laboratory, or chemistry laboratory.
SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is 42,000 to 46,199 per annum. The salary range or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
